Direct youth theatre education in Calgary with Morpheus Theatre, guiding Gilbert and Sullivan students toward a staged May performance. Saturday classes are required.

This contract Director and Theatre Instructor supports G&S; Junior Theatre School from mid-October 2022 through mid-May 2023. The program serves youth ages 9 to 17 and develops performance skills through a Gilbert and Sullivan production. You will collaborate with the Artistic Director, Musical Director, and another Theatre Instructor. The work includes course planning, weekly instruction, script adaptation, and student support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop the season course plan with program leadership
- Facilitate weekly Saturday morning theatre classes




- Rewrite scripts for junior ensemble members
- Teach theatre and performance fundamentals
- Support students while maintaining a safe setting

Requirements:

- Strong love of theatrical education
- Passion for inspiring young artists
- Appreciation of Gilbert and Sullivan
- Experience working with and supervising youth
- Current or obtainable vulnerable sector check
