Maintain secure, sanitary spaces with WHMIS knowledge and custodial experience at The Gathering Place in St. John’s, NL. Work temporary full-time shifts, including weekends.

The Custodian supports Guests, staff, and volunteers across The Gathering Place’s Main Building and Mercy House. This temporary full-time position continues until March 31, 2027, with possible extension. You will follow documented cleaning plans, infection control procedures, and workplace safety protocols while working independently or collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain sanitary environments using cleaning schedules and safety procedures
- Handle disinfectants and hazardous materials according to WHMIS guidelines
- Clean and record designated areas and high-touch surfaces
- Operate, store,



and report issues with custodial equipment
- Replenish paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies

Requirements:

- Custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience, preferably institutionally
- WHMIS or chemical safety knowledge considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand extended periods
- Dependability, organization, and time management skills
- Clear Record of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check required
