Support residents with compassionate daily care as a Continuing Care Assistant at Shannex’s Elk Court in Brookfield, Nova Scotia.
This Continuing Care Assistant position supports residents with hygiene, meals, mobility, and special needs. You will document care, communicate observations, and collaborate on individualized Resident Care Plans. The work includes delegated nursing acts, leisure activities, and light housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, oral care, and meals
Support mobility, restorative care, and range of motion
Provide snacks, fluid passes, and mealtime assistance
Document resident care, progress, incidents, and audits
Communicate observations and collaborate on individualized care plans
Requirements: Complete a Continuing Care Assistant program or approved equivalency
Register with Nova Scotia’s CCA registry
Hold valid CPR and First Aid certification
Work flexible days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Know infection control and personal care principles
Bring compassionate resident care, documentation, mobility support, and protected practice to Shannex’s Elk Court team in Brookfield.
