The Municipal Law Enforcement Officer I administers and enforces municipal by-laws and provincial statutes. Duties cover animal control, signs, lottery licensing, yard maintenance, business licensing, and related enforcement. The position supports community health, safety, and well-being through education, compliance efforts, evidence collection, and court preparation.
Key Responsibilities: Investigate alleged municipal by-law and provincial statute violations
Seek compliance through education, negotiation, and mediation
Collect evidence, including witness statements and documentation




Lay appropriate charges when compliance is not forthcoming
Prepare materials supporting successful court prosecution
Requirements: Two-year college diploma in law enforcement or related discipline
MLEO certification and ongoing association membership
Possession and Acquisition Licence with firearms training
Two years performing related major responsibilities
Ontario Class G licence, reliable vehicle, and good driving record
