Apply advanced technical skills as a part-time Registered Veterinary Technologist in Calgary’s ER and ICU at Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre.

This position supports critically ill dogs and cats alongside board-certified specialists. The successful candidate provides inpatient care, triage, anesthesia, monitoring, and client communication. Solid teamwork, compassion, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential for challenging referral cases.

Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitate treatments, diagnostic work-ups, and monitoring for hospitalized patients
- Assess ER patients and determine triage priorities
- Assist DVMs with diagnostics, treatments, admissions, and discharges
- Administer anesthesia and support emergency procedure recovery




- Communicate regularly with clients and referring hospitals

Requirements:

- Registered Veterinary Technician registration in Alberta
- Minimum three years preferred, ideally in emergency or referral settings
- General anesthesia and monitoring experience with dogs and cats
- Critical thinking, multitasking, and strong time-management skills
- Excellent verbal, written, teamwork, and client communication skills
