Lead planning policy delivery and professional staff for Dover District Council in a full-time, permanent, in office position in Dover.
As Planning Policy Team Leader, you will manage planning officers and technical staff following Local Plan adoption in 2024. You will provide planning policy advice, guide application responses, manage developer contributions, and support wider service management.
Key Responsibilities: Lead delivery, implementation, and review of planning policy documents
Guide consistent responses to planning applications
Appear as expert witness at examinations, appeals, and hearings
Manage S106 monitoring and Infrastructure Funding Statement production
Lead Infrastructure Delivery Plan production with partners
Requirements: Professional planning policy knowledge and guidance capability
Understanding of developer contributions and strategic infrastructure
Experience managing staff and assigning team resources
Ability to advise elected members and management teams
Ability to support public meetings and wider service management
Apply planning policy leadership, infrastructure knowledge, and professional advice to support Dover District Council’s development framework.
