Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic

Job Description

This role focuses on heavy maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting of light aircraft fleets, including M1 aircraft such as Turbo Commanders, Grand Caravans, Air Tractors, and other lighter aircraft. You will read and interpret complex technical manuals, identify the correct procedures, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance to keep aircraft safe, airworthy, and ready to support fire-fighting operations in the field during the summer months.

Responsibilities

- Perform heavy maintenance, inspections, and repairs on light aircraft, including Turbo Commanders, Grand Caravans, Air Tractors, and other M1-class aircraft.
- Complete 1500/2000-hour inspections and carry out corrective maintenance as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical documentation.
- Conduct detailed aircraft inspections and ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
- Support both hangar maintenance activities and field operations during firefighting season.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team leads and maintenance personnel to complete work efficiently.

Qualifications

- Valid M1 or M2 AME Licence, or apprenticeship experience with relevant light aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience performing heavy maintenance on light aircraft.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Experience with line maintenance and scheduled inspections.




- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Assets

- Experience with TC690 aircraft.
- Experience with PT6-powered aircraft.
- Q400 maintenance experience.
- Helicopter maintenance experience.
- Experience supporting aircraft in remote or field environments.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday, Day Shift
- 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Overtime available
- Field assignments and travel opportunities available during firefighting season

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.30 - $56.38/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
