Operate winter road equipment for The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, using a D-Z licence and heavy equipment experience. This temporary assignment runs November 1 to April 2, 2027.
Reporting to the Patrol Supervisor, the Winter Equipment Operator II operates several equipment types and supports County road systems. Duties include driving a six-ton minimum dump truck with snow plow and sander equipment, ploughing, salting, maintenance, and general road work. Paid One-Person Snow Plow Operator training is offered.
Key Responsibilities: Operate dump trucks with snow plows and sanders
Plough and salt County roads during winter months
Steam culverts and maintain winter fleet equipment
Replace cross-culverts and perform road repairs
Complete deficiency paperwork and required repairs
Requirements: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Valid D-Z driver’s licence
Three years of progressive heavy equipment experience
Physical ability to perform heavy labour
Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and repair
Bring heavy equipment operation, mechanical aptitude, and winter road maintenance experience to Leeds and Grenville’s Public Works Division.
