Manning Park Resort is seeking afull-time, year-round Millwright apprentice. The candidate will be comfortableworking on surface lifts and aerial lifts such as a 2019 Dopplemayr fixed gripquad chair and a 1967 Murray Latta fixed grip double chair. You will maintain,repair, and troubleshoot the lift equipment; assist lift operations with the start-upand shutdown of the lifts daily; and maintain, repair, and troubleshootgraders, loaders, snowcat equipment, and snowmobiles. They also will be requiredto read diagrams and manufacturers’ manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheavetrains, service grips, and perform other mechanical procedures requiringspecialized training. You must be comfortable working at great heights, in allweather conditions, at any time of the day or night.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

- Perform duties assignedby Lift Maintenance and Operations Managers while supporting teamleadership and mentoring.
- Maintain lifts incompliance with CSA Z98 standards and manufacturer guidelines, includinginspections, documentation, and routine maintenance.
- Monitor lift operationsto ensure secure performance, respond to faults, and account forenvironmental and weather impacts.
- Adjust, repair, orreplace defective components as required.
- Maintain accurate dailyrecords of work performed, materials used, and inventory of mechanicalparts.
- Assist with fuel andlubrication handling,



ensuring proper storage and disposal in accordancewith provincial regulations.
- Support emergencyresponse, including lift evacuations, bypass procedures, and stayingcurrent on all emergency protocols.
- Identify, report, andrectify unsafe conditions.
- Ensure all staff workingaround equipment are aware of current safety procedures and hazards.
- Adhere to all safetypolicies and OH&S; requirements, including reviewing posted notices andmaintaining a safe work environment for staff and guests.
- Maintain a clean,organized workspace and assist with general shop and facility upkeep.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

- Must be a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic apprentice.
- Strong communication skills;self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently andas part of a team.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licencerequired.
- Ability to work safely in allweather conditions and at heights.
- Solid working knowledge ofWorkSafeBC regulations.
- Must supply required basic tools.
- Candidateswith a minimum of 3 years’ experience are preferred.

Assets for this position

- Fallen worker training
- First aid certification
- Completion of Passenger Ropeways and Passenger Conveyors Courses Lift 150, 151 &/or 152.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (graders, loaders, snowcats, snowmobiles, ATVs, and 4×4 trucks).
- Experience maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Experience maintaining and repairing 12V and 24V systems.
- Experience working in the ski industry.
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability.

Thisis a year-round position with a minimum commitment of 1 Year.
