Support emergency veterinary care at VEG by triaging patients and assisting with treatments, diagnostics, and clinical procedures. Work directly with pet parents and medical teams.
As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you will support credentialed veterinary technicians and veterinarians in a 24/7 hospital setting. Your work includes veterinary nursing care, bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, oxygen support, anesthesia, sedation, fluids, transfusions, and medications. You will also participate in patient rounds and receive guided training.
Key Responsibilities: Welcome and triage incoming patients toward appropriate care
Assist with treatments, diagnostics, and veterinary nursing care
Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases
Manage IV fluids, transfusions,



and medication administration
Support inpatient and outpatient care through patient rounds
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required
One or more years of veterinary assistant experience
Basic computer, practice management, and medical records skills
Excellent communication and fine motor skills
Availability for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
Build emergency veterinary experience at VEG while developing skills in triage, diagnostics, anesthesia support, and patient care.
