Support criminal and family law clients in English and French as a Legal Aid Worker serving London and the West District.
Legal Aid Ontario seeks a contract Legal Aid Worker for initial assessment, intake, legal information, referrals, and case support. The position assists lawyers and paralegals with court proceedings while identifying client needs and appropriate services. Work may support criminal court, family court, or both, based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities: Determine eligibility for certificate and duty counsel services
Triage clients and assess legal service needs
Provide basic legal, form, and court process information
Assist criminal and family court proceedings
Prepare reports, accounts, dockets, and client records
Requirements: Proficiency in oral and written French and English
Knowledge of criminal and family law procedures
Solid interviewing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of confidentiality and solicitor-client privilege
Ability to travel within the West District
Bring bilingual communication, sound judgment, and legal client service skills to Legal Aid Ontario’s London District Office.
