Recruits serve a minimum 12-month probation with the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands. You must become NFPA 1001 certified within 36 months. The prospect requires emergency-call participation, annual training attendance, and readiness for essential duties.
Key Responsibilities: Complete a minimum 12-month probation period
Become NFPA 1001 certified within 36 months
Attend at least 60% of annual training
Attend at least 25% of annual emergency calls
Requirements: Ontario high school diploma or equivalent
Be at least 18 years old
Hold an unrestricted Ontario Class G licence
Obtain a Class DZ licence within one year
Provide required checks and medical certificate
Bring licensing, certification, attendance, and essential-duty readiness to paid on-call firefighting across Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
