Personal Support Workers provide resident care at The Salvation Army Meighen Health Centre, following care plans and supporting daily living activities. The position emphasizes resident safety and service excellence.
Reporting to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Designate, the Personal Support Worker delivers care within established policies, regulations, orders, and scope of practice. Duties include bathing, toileting, nutrition, transfers, documentation, and participation in therapeutic activities. The position also supports quality management, health and safety, and resident-centred care.
Key Responsibilities: Provide personal care according to resident care plans
Assist residents with bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming
Record nutrition intake and follow dietary protocols




Complete secure transfers using prescribed equipment and techniques
Document care and report resident needs to nurses
Requirements: Personal Support Worker certification from a recognized institution
Demonstrated experience in a long-term care setting
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Knowledge of computerized resident records and software applications
Understanding of falls prevention and least restraint practices
Bring resident care, documentation, safety, and communication skills to Personal Support Worker services at Meighen Health Centre.
