Deliver respite care for people with intellectual disabilities through medication support, personal care, and behavioral intervention in London, Ontario.
The Salvation Army offers a temporary full time position supporting children, youth, and adults in its respite program. Staff provide person-centered assistance while meeting physical, emotional, medical, and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include advocacy, program planning, case management participation, and communication with caregivers and community partners.
Key Responsibilities: Advocate for participant health, dignity, and well-being
Provide personal care and respond to behavioral challenges
Plan age-appropriate leisure and skill-building activities
Liaise with parents, caregivers, volunteers, and community supports
Record daily logs,



incidents, restraints, and shift changes
Requirements: One year of experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities
Experience dealing with crises in social services settings
Developmental Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or related diploma
Current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
Strong confidentiality, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
Use person-centered support, advocacy, and documentation skills to strengthen respite services for participants and their caregivers.
