The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic maintains vehicles for a well-established family-owned short- and long-term rental business. Daily work includes inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs completed under work orders. Success requires organized time management, effective emergency management, physical capability, and solid communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnose heavy vehicle issues from work orders
Carry out necessary mechanical repairs
Adjust or replace mechanical components and systems
Complete inspections and preventive maintenance
Perform related tasks safely and according to procedures
Requirements: Two or more years in heavy vehicle mechanics
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
Comfort using computers and new technologies
Physical ability to perform manual tasks
Valid Class 5 license and personal toolbox
Bring diagnostic judgment, systems knowledge, and repair capability to maintain heavy vehicles supporting the rental fleet.
