Our client, a leading international law firm, is looking to add a Mergers & Acquisitions lawyer to its Montreal team.

This opportunity is ideal for a transactional lawyer looking to work on complex and strategic matters for a sophisticated client base that includes corporations, institutional investors and entrepreneurs, both in Canada and internationally.

The Role

You will be involved in all stages of M&A; transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, strategic investments and various corporate transactions.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Participate in transactions involving private and public companies
- Draft, review and negotiate purchase and sale agreements as well as various transactional documents
- Assist with transaction structuring and due diligence
- Draft and negotiate shareholder agreements, investment agreements and other commercial agreements
- Advise clients on legal and commercial matters related to their transactions
- Collaborate with specialized teams, including tax, financing and regulatory




- Build direct relationships with clients and other parties involved in transactions

Profile

- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions or transactional corporate law
- Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
- Experience drafting and negotiating transactional and commercial agreements
- Excellent analytical, drafting and negotiation skills
- Solid business judgment and understanding of commercial considerations
- Autonomy, attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken
