Apply your emergency nursing and anesthesia skills as a Registered Veterinary Technician at 404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital in Newmarket, Ontario.
This casual, relief position supports the Emergency Department within a 24-hour hospital. Experienced technicians and new graduates are welcome. You will assess patients, monitor anesthesia and recovery, complete diagnostics, assist procedures, and administer treatments under veterinary guidance.
Key Responsibilities: Perform physical assessments and support emergency triage
Monitor vital signs, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery
Place catheters, collect samples, and run laboratory tests
Take diagnostic radiographs and prepare surgical suites




Dispense medications and administer in-hospital treatments
Requirements: Complete a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program
Eligibility for registration in the applicable province
Knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and procedures
Technical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
Adaptable availability for rotating days, evenings, and weekends
