Provide psychiatric assessment in Lakeridge Health’s Emergency Department across Oshawa and Ajax-Pickering. Apply advanced mental health expertise within a multi-site Crisis Intervention Team.

This regular full time Nurse Practitioner role serves youth and adults with mental health and substance use disorders. Working with Psychiatry, you will assess and treat mental health needs, order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform procedures within scope. The position supports client-centred, trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide psychiatric assessment and consultation in the Emergency Department
- Diagnose autonomously and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform authorized procedures




- Participate in discharge decisions and patient-family conferences
- Liaise with community and hospital providers

Requirements:

- Current Ontario RN (EC) registration and Nurse Practitioner certificate
- Acute Care or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification
- Master of Nursing degree and current BLS certification
- Two-plus years’ MHA care and related prescribing experience
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Mental Health Act
