Apply regulatory expertise with the Alberta Energy Regulator as a Directive 056 Facility Application Specialist at any AER office location.

This full-time permanent specialist serves as a subject matter expert on routine and nonroutine facility applications. The position reviews applications, issues approvals under delegated authority, and supports complex regulatory matters. Success requires knowledge of Directives 056, 089, 090, Manual 12, OGCR, and OGCA.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review routine and nonroutine Directive 056 facility applications
- Evaluate complex applications proceeding through SOCAR or hearings
- Provide technical direction to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead enterprise projects and support implementation
- Coach, train,



and mentor less experienced staff

Requirements:

- Technical diploma in science, engineering, or applicable curriculum
- Five or more years of related industry or regulatory experience
- Robust understanding of Alberta’s regulatory framework and legislation
- Positive attitude, self-leadership, and cooperative knowledge sharing
- Ability to travel occasionally across Alberta
