Reporting to the executive producer of news, you oversee story development across CBC Toronto’s English Services. The work spans reporters, producers, editors, writers, and packagers, supporting live and on-demand text, audio, and video. You collaborate with audience growth leaders to turn insights into editorial action.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure stories address transparent audience needs
Oversee teams developing and crafting stories
Identify follow-ups and pitch new stories
Lead teams through breaking news coverage
Coach teams and guide editorial decisions
Requirements: Minimum seven years’ editorial newsroom leadership experience
Strong daily news journalism and storytelling experience
Extensive knowledge of journalistic standards and practices
Ability to interpret audience needs and consumption trends
Experience guiding talent through significant change
