Repair diesel-electric locomotives in the field for Cando, using mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills. Work outdoors, independently or within small teams.

As a Locomotive Mechanic, you will service Cando’s locomotive fleet across switching and short line railway operations. The work includes inspections, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, repairs, and detailed documentation. You will also coordinate maintenance schedules and support secure equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inspect locomotives and diagnose mechanical or electrical issues
- Complete preventive maintenance on locomotives and Cando equipment
- Track inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and required logs




- Schedule daily and weekly locomotive maintenance and repairs
- Maintain work areas, vehicles, tools, and servicing equipment

Requirements:

- At least five years in heavy industrial environments
- Experience with similar equipment and industrial maintenance
- Ability to lift, push, and pull fifty pounds
- Valid driver’s license and safety-critical medical status
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather
