Lead In Situ facilities development and business cases from Suncor’s Calgary head office, using technical judgment and portfolio integration expertise. Shape major capital projects through key stages and decisions.

As Development Engineer, you will lead Suncor’s In Situ growth projects, including Firebag expansion, Lewis, and future opportunities. You will integrate facilities, subsurface, execution, commercial, operations, regulatory, and process engineering inputs. The role owns Design Basis Memoranda and advances projects through concept selection, DBM, and FEED.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead facilities and business case development for In Situ growth projects
- Own DBM design basis, assumptions, interfaces, revisions, and change control
- Lead decisions through concept selection, DBM, and FEED stages




- Integrate costs, schedules, production, risks, and economic evaluations
- Coordinate EPC contractor studies and project interfaces

Requirements:

- Skilled Engineer registered or eligible with APEGA
- 12+ years in development, engineering, or major project roles
- Five years working directly on In Situ assets
- Knowledge of SAGD CPF facilities and infrastructure
- Experience with business cases, ADEM, D∓, and stage gates
