Design and test cryogenic hardware at D-Wave’s Burnaby hardware team, applying engineering analysis and hands-on troubleshooting to quantum computers. Travel is approximately 10%.
As a Cryogenics Engineer II, you will independently drive assigned projects from planning through implementation and verification. The work includes cryogenic components, vacuum and gas handling equipment, experiments, measured data, and engineering change control. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, processor development, software, and operations teams to improve system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, test, and refine cryogenic components and subsystems
- Plan experiments to characterize cryogenic system performance
- Analyze operating data to investigate faults and guide decisions
- Troubleshoot thermal, vacuum, gas handling, and control issues
- Prepare design records, test plans, and technical reports
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience
- Three or more years with cryogenic equipment or systems
- Experience with vacuum, gas handling, and leak detection
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills using measured data
- Ability to drive technical work independently and communicate findings
Apply cryogenic systems expertise, hardware testing, and analytical troubleshooting to advance reliable quantum computing systems at D-Wave.
