Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking a junior lawyer with commercial litigation experience to join its Montreal team.

This prospect is ideal for a lawyer looking to develop a high-level litigation practice and contribute to complex, high-profile matters with a national scope, including class actions, commercial disputes, investigations and regulatory matters.

Your Role

You will play an active role in managing files and work closely with lawyers in the Montreal office as well as colleagues across the firm’s other offices. Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing and contributing to complex commercial litigation matters
- Working on class actions, investigations and regulatory disputes
- Advising clients on legal and strategic matters
- Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis
- Drafting legal opinions, memoranda, pleadings and written arguments
- Preparing and arguing motions before the courts
- Collaborating with teams across the firm on significant national mandates

Profile

- Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
- Commercial litigation experience,



ideally gained at a leading Canadian or international law firm or a recognized litigation boutique
- Hands-on experience managing files and representing clients before the courts
- Excellent legal research, analytical and drafting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Sound judgment and ability to advise sophisticated clients
- Autonomous, proactive and highly organized
- Ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Membership with the Law Society of Ontario or a common law degree considered an asset
