**Job Title: Plumber**
**Job Description**
This long-term opportunity is ideal for experienced plumbers who want to work on new construction projects, including sixstory walkups and institutional buildings.

You will focus on both rough-in and finishing stages, installing and connecting a variety of plumbing systems and fixtures while collaborating closely with a skilled team on commercial and institutional sites in the Lower Mainland.
**Responsibilities**
Install and service plumbing systems on new construction projects, including sixstory walkups and institutional buildings.

Perform rough-in plumbing work, including layout, measuring, cutting, and assembling piping systems from 0.5 to 4 inches in size.

Work with a variety of piping materials such as cast iron, copper, black iron heating pipe, and wirsbo pipe, ensuring proper mechanical joints and secure connections.

Install and finish plumbing fixtures including faucets, toilets, and associated piping to meet project specifications and quality standards.

Support heating and cooling equipment installations as required, particularly in mechanical rooms and related areas.

Read and interpret deck layouts, construction drawings, and specifications to plan and execute plumbing installations accurately.

Collaborate with the foreman, journeypersons, and apprentices to coordinate daily tasks and maintain productive workflow on site.

Adhere to safety protocols and site regulations while working indoors and outdoors on active construction sites.

Participate in welding activities related to mechanical room and heating pipe installations when needed and within your skill set.

Travel to and work on assigned sites across the Lower Mainland, with a primary focus on Vancouver, UBC, and South Surrey for extended project durations.

Work scheduled shifts (typically 6:302:30 or 7:003:00) and perform overtime when required to meet project deadlines.

Contribute to a productive, hardworking environment that maximizes onsite hours while aiming to complete work on time each day.
**Essential Skills**
Registered as at least a 3rdyear plumbing apprentice or higher, or equivalent journeyperson level experience.

Minimum of 2 years of institutional or commercial plumbing experience.

Proven experience completing both rough-in and finishing plumbing on new construction projects.

Ability to work on sites in Vancouver and/or UBC, with flexibility to work across the Lower Mainland as required.

Relevant plumbing schooling completed and aligned with apprenticeship hours or equivalent training requirements.

Hands-on experience with installation of cast iron, copper, and other common commercial plumbing materials.

Competence working with mechanical joints and wirsbo pipe in commercial and institutional environments.

Ability to read and follow construction layouts and drawings for plumbing installations.

Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with foremen, journeypersons, and apprentices in a fast-paced construction setting.

Reliability and willingness to work scheduled hours and overtime when necessary.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Red Seal Plumbing certification is an asset.

Previous experience working extensively with cast iron piping is preferred.

Comfort working in mechanical rooms, including exposure to black iron heating pipe and welding activities.

Experience on large-scale institutional or multistory residential projects is beneficial.

Familiarity with commercial construction environments, including new build, nonoccupied sites.

Ability to work across multiple locations in the Lower Mainland, from Chilliwack to North Vancouver, as project needs require.
**Why Work Here?**
You will join a stable, familyoriented organization where employees tend to stay long term and grow their careers.

The environment emphasizes teamwork, with crews working together when overtime is required and a strong focus on getting everyone home on time whenever possible.

The company steadily increases manpower rather than relying on mass layoffs, and much of its work comes from repeat clients, providing consistent project flow.

Once permanent, employees receive a premium hourly topup and benefits aligned with ICBA standards, including coverage for massage, vision, and dental care, as well as statutory holiday and vacation pay.

There are clear opportunities for advancement into foreman, lead hand, or superintendent roles, and many current foremen have progressed internally since their first year of apprenticeship.
**Work Environment**
You will work on active construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, primarily on new build projects that are not occupied.

Typical work involves deck layout, cast iron, copper, black iron heating pipe, mechanical rooms, and welding, using commercialgrade tools and equipment.

Project locations span the Lower Mainland, from Chilliwack to North Vancouver, with current needs focused on Surrey/Maple Ridge/New Westminster and UBC/Vancouver, including a South Surrey project expected to run for approximately 1.5 years.

You will work closely with a foreman and a crew that may include 15 journeypersons and 15 apprentices, in a hardworking, productivitydriven environment that still respects worklife balance.

Typical hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime as required to meet project timelines.

The culture is familyoriented, collaborative, and focused on longterm employment and professional growth.
