Nurse Practitioner (NP / IPS) — Virtual Care | Quebec & Nova Scotia
Pay: CA$160.00–CA$200.00 per hour (estimated equivalent; compensation is per assessment)
About Kinro
Kinro is a Canadian virtual care platform offering treatment across a variety of therapeutic areas, including weight management and sexual health. Patients complete an online consultation, are assessed by a licensed practitioner, and receive their prescription through our pharmacy, delivered to their door or sent to a local pharmacy for pickup.
We're growing quickly across Canada and are currently looking to hire two Nurse Practitioners for separate positions:
- 1 Nurse Practitioner licensed in Quebec (QC)
- 1 Nurse Practitioner licensed in Nova Scotia (NS)
You only need to be licensed in ONE of these provinces to apply. Candidates licensed in additional provinces are also welcome.
The Role
You'll provide virtual care to Kinro patients in the province where you're licensed.
The work is primarily asynchronous: you'll review intake questionnaires and medical histories, make prescribing decisions, and communicate with patients through secure messaging.
No clinic. No fixed shifts. Fully remote.
Day to day, you will:
- Review new patient consultations as they come into the queue
- Build each approved patient's treatment plan
- Review monthly check-ins and adjust doses ahead of each renewal
- Respond to patient messages about side effects, dosing, and adherence
- Order laboratory testing where clinically indicated
- Work with our Medical Director, Director of Clinical Operations, and pharmacy team on patient care
Requirements For the Quebec Position:
- Hold a Nurse Practitioner (IPS) specialist certificate from the OIIQ and be a member in good standing — primary care (IPSPL) preferred
- Fluent in French (spoken and written),
with professional working English for internal communication
- Able to order laboratory testing for Quebec patients
For the Nova Scotia Position:
- Hold an active Nurse Practitioner (NP) licence with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) and be a member in good standing — Family/All Ages Nurse Practitioner designation preferred
- Professional working English
- Able to order laboratory testing for Nova Scotia patients
General Requirements (Both Positions):
- Minimum 1–2 years of NP experience with strong independent clinical judgment
- Able to log in at least once every 24 hours to respond to patients
- Able to commit a minimum of approximately 5 hours per week on the platform
- Comfortable with EMRs, secure messaging, and fully work from home
Assets
- Licensed as an NP in additional Canadian provinces — each additional licence means more consultations available to you
- Experience with weight management or sexual health
- Prior virtual care / telehealth experience
What You Get
- Work from anywhere in Canada, on your schedule — pick up consultations when it suits you
- A dedicated clinical operations lead as your day-to-day contact, plus engineering and pharmacy support
- An easy-to-use practitioner portal, accessible from your laptop, tablet, or phone
- A secure platform built to meet Canadian health privacy requirements
Compensation
Nurse Practitioners are compensated per assessment, with flexibility to take on consultations based on availability.
