Journeyman Millwright

We are looking for a Journeyman Millwright to join our shop in Sexsmith, AB. This role is responsible for the mechanical maintenance on vehicles and equipment. A general team player attitude and willingness to help out in any and everything will guarantee success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Install new machinery and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Dismantle, move, assemble, and align industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on rotating equipment such as:
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Conveyors
- Gearboxes
- Fans and blowers
- Crushers
- Turbines
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and equipment breakdowns.
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, and other mechanical components.
- Conduct precision alignments using laser alignment tools and dial indicators.
- Perform equipment inspections and condition monitoring.
- Read and interpret:
- Blueprints
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;)
- Mechanical drawings
- Equipment manuals
- Operate rigging equipment, cranes, hoists, and lifting devices safely.
- Complete work orders, maintenance records, and safety documentation.

Experience and Skills:

- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Precision measurement and machine alignment.
- Welding and fabrication fundamentals




- Bearing installation and shaft alignment techniques.
- Troubleshooting industrial equipment.
- Safe rigging and lifting practices.
- Ability to work from technical drawings.
- Journeyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) certification.
- Apprenticeship completion (typically 4 years in Canada).
- Valid safety certifications such as:
- CSTS
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry
- H2S Alive (oil and gas environments)
