Fine Education is an academic learning centre in Burnaby providing personalized educational support and structured learning programs for students across various grade levels.

We are seeking an English Instructor to support our reading and writing program using myON, a digital reading platform.

Unlike a traditional classroom setting, students work at their own pace and may be reading different books or completing different assignments during the same session. The instructor will be responsible for monitoring individual progress, providing guidance, and helping students develop their reading comprehension and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and support multiple students working independently on the myON digital reading platform.
- Monitor individual reading progress and provide guidance based on each student's level and learning needs.
- Help students develop reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills through follow-up activities.
- Guide students in completing written responses, reading summaries, and other assignments related to their reading.
- Manage student folders, organize completed assignments, and maintain accurate learning records.
- Track student progress and identify areas where additional support or follow-up may be needed.
- Maintain a structured and supportive learning setting while assisting students at different stages of their work.

Requirements

- Must be available to work Tuesday through Friday during afternoon hours.




- Previous teaching or tutoring experience with elementary or secondary school students.
- Strong English communication and writing skills.
- Experience managing multiple students with different learning levels or individualized assignments.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and provide individual attention in a shared learning environment.
- Comfortable using computers, online learning platforms, and digital educational resources.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience teaching English reading comprehension and writing.
- Previous experience in a tutoring centre, learning centre, or individualized learning environment.
- Familiarity with digital reading programs such as myON or similar educational platforms.
- Experience tracking student progress and maintaining learning records.
- Korean language proficiency is an asset.

Schedule

Job Type: Part-time / Contract or fixed-term arrangements are negotiable based on the candidate’s preference.

Expected Hours: 15-16 hours per week

Required Availability: Tuesday to Friday, afternoon hours (3PM-7PM *Negotiable)
