Design ocean instruments in Ottawa using first-principles analysis, simulation, and testing. Work on-site with RBR’s experienced engineering team.As a Mechanical Engineer, you will help create sensors, instruments, and OEM assemblies for demanding ocean conditions. This new role welcomes robust intermediate or senior engineers who think conceptually and validate decisions through mathematics, modelling, and testing. You will contribute to products supporting scientists and researchers.Key Responsibilities:
Define products from scientific and customer requirementsOwn mechanical designs through production releasePerform hand calculations before committing designs to CADValidate designs using FEA, CFD, thermal simulation, and testsPrepare NPI documentation and review designsRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent8+ years of product development experienceStrong mechanics, fluids, heat transfer, and dynamics fundamentalsHands-on FEA or CFD experienceProficiency with 3D CAD;
SolidWorks preferredApply mechanical analysis, CAD, simulation, and testing expertise to advance RBR ocean instruments in Ottawa.
