Lead mine closure planning at Burgundy Diamond Mines’ Ekati mine site using geotechnical engineering and surface mine design expertise. Work a two weeks on, two weeks off rotation.As Senior Engineer, Mine Closure, you will lead a small multidisciplinary planning team and report to the Senior Manager, Technical Services and Projects. The position requires closure planning, geotechnical assessments, stability analysis, and collaboration with Workplace teams. You will support regulatory approvals, dewatering, water management, and reclamation across the operation.Key Responsibilities:




Lead closure planning initiatives across the mining operationReview closure designs and audit regulatory complianceEvaluate long-term stability of mine infrastructureManage consultants and Engineers of RecordPrepare technical reports for leadership and regulatorsRequirements:
Engineering degree with closure planning and stability analysis exposureProfessional Engineer designation in Northwest Territories or transfer eligibilityMinimum 10 years of relevant mining experienceAdvanced Rocscience, GeoStudio, Deswik, and Maptek experienceValid Class 5 driver’s licenceApply mine closure leadership, geotechnical assessment, and technical reporting expertise at Burgundy Diamond Mines’ Ekati operation.
