Overview
Duchess Bake Shop is hiring a part-time Retail Shop Assistant for our Provisions shop on 124 Street. This role involves providing exceptional service, assisting customers with product selections, and supporting daily store operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for baking and retail sales. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your baking knowledge and customer service skills while contributing to a agile team.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments
- Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandise displays, ensure products are well-organized, and restock shelves as needed




- Support inventory management through stock checks and organization of the sales floor
- Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive product presentations
- Support the team in achieving sales targets through effective communication and organizational skills

Skills

- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and baking/culinary is an asset
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling
- Excellent organizational skills for managing stock and maintaining store presentation
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Customer service orientation with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to enhance customer experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
