We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a team in Downsview, Ontario on a Long-term Contract assignment. This position will focus on reviewing high-volume financial records, comparing invoice and payment activity across multiple platforms, and identifying gaps that affect year-end reporting accuracy. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with large Excel data sets, following direction independently, and communicating clearly when exceptions or inconsistencies need further review.

Responsibilities:

- Compare invoice, payment, and credit records between QuickBooks and dispatch system exports to identify missing or unmatched transactions.
- Analyse large Excel files using lookup and matching functions to reconcile open items and highlight discrepancies in amounts or invoice status.
- Investigate variances between systems and organize findings so internal team members can review exceptions that require historical context.
- Confirm whether invoices, credits, and related entries have been properly recorded in the accounting system.
- Support year-end reconciliation activities by producing accurate data summaries that help clarify financial differences across records.
- Work through high volumes of transaction data with strong attention to detail while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Document recurring issues in the flow of financial information between systems and report patterns that may be contributing to posting gaps.
- Collaborate with staff across multiple locations when additional information is needed to validate records or resolve open items.
- 1+ year of experience in an accounting, billing, reconciliation, or data-focused administrative role.
- Hands-on experience with account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing,



or invoice processing.
- Robust proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, INDEX, and other data-matching techniques.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately through large volumes of transactional data.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to ask questions and clarify instructions when needed.
- Ability to work independently in an in-office environment, Monday to Friday, and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
