Pay: $18.00–$23.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with overtime

About the Position

Canadian Countertops & Tile is looking for a dependable, hardworking Installation Assistant to become part of our installation team.

This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to develop practical trade skills, and takes pride in doing quality work. Previous countertop experience is not necessary, provided you are motivated to learn and contribute.

You will work alongside our experienced Lead Installers, assisting with the delivery, handling, preparation, and installation of quartz, porcelain, and natural stone countertops. Projects include residential homes and commercial spaces throughout Winnipeg and the surrounding communities.

Job Duties

- Help Lead Installers transport countertop materials, equipment, and tools between our shop and installation sites.
- Assist with lifting, moving, carrying, and accurately positioning heavy countertop pieces using appropriate handling methods and team assistance.
- Help remove existing countertops during replacement projects.
- Perform basic on-site cutting, fabrication, and adjustments under the direction of experienced installers.
- Assist with countertop installation, surface preparation, repairs, and related stonework.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe throughout each installation.
- When required, assist in the fabrication shop with polishing, finishing, and moving materials.
- Organize, store, and care for tools, materials, and installation equipment.
- Help ensure company vehicles remain clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Work overtime as operationally required

Skills & Requirements

- Experience in construction, cabinetry, countertop installation, or a related trade is beneficial but not mandatory.




- Familiarity with common hand tools and equipment, including drills, grinders, and polishers, is an advantage.
- Must be physically capable of participating in the safe handling of heavy countertop materials, including loads exceeding 100 lbs with appropriate team assistance.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
- Positive attitude and ability to cooperate with other team members.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to work.
- Flexibility to work overtime or occasional Saturdays when projects require it.
