About the Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent on behalf of an established civil construction company based in Langley, British Columbia.

Our client provides civil construction and building services throughout the region, backed by more than four decades of collective industry experience. The company is committed to delivering high-quality projects safely, on schedule and within budget.

We are seeking a hands-on construction leader with extensive experience in underground utilities and roadworks who can independently manage daily site operations, supervise crews and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily site operations for civil construction projects, with a primary focus on underground utilities and roadworks.
- Coordinate and supervise field crews, subcontractors, equipment and materials.
- Plan and organize daily construction activities to maintain productivity and meet project milestones.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, labour and equipment utilization.
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain quality-control standards.
- Implement and enforce site-specific health and safety plans, including hazard identification and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, consultants and clients to resolve construction challenges.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates and project documentation.
- Coordinate resources and anticipate potential delays to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused site culture that promotes accountability, teamwork and quality workmanship.
- Ensure construction activities minimize impacts on the public, environment and surrounding communities.





Required Qualifications

- Minimum 15 years of construction industry experience.
- Proven experience as a Civil Superintendent or in a comparable field leadership role on civil infrastructure or heavy construction projects.
- Strong experience overseeing underground utilities, roadworks or related civil construction activities.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise field crews, coordinate subcontractors and manage daily construction operations.
- Thorough understanding of civil construction methods, materials, equipment and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, hazard identification and site-specific safety procedures.
- Experience managing project schedules, monitoring budgets and tracking labour, materials and equipment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, clients and subcontractors.
- Proficiency with construction management software and standard computer applications for reporting and documentation.
- Relevant technical diploma, trade certification or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
