Japanese Takeout Cook - Day Shift

We are hiring an experienced cook for our Japanese quick-service takeout kitchen. There is no dine-in service. This is a solo kitchen position: after training, you must be able to manage the kitchen independently throughout your shift.

Schedule and pay

- Full-time, with at least 4 shifts per week.

- Day shift: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

- CAD $22.00-$24.00 per hour, based on relevant kitchen experience.

- Overtime is paid separately where applicable under BC employment standards.

Work and training locations

- Regular work location: 820 20th Street, New Westminster, BC V3M 4W8.

- Initial training location: 5744 Fraser St, Vancouver, BC V5W 2Z5. Applicants must be able to attend training at this location.

Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients, sauces and portions for daily service.

- Cook menu items according to our recipes and quality standards.

- Manage incoming takeout and delivery orders and prioritize preparation.





- Pack orders accurately and have them ready for pickup.

- Receive, store and replenish ingredients and packaging supplies.

- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs.

- Wash dishes and equipment, clean the kitchen and follow food safety procedures.

- Complete opening preparations and a clear handover to the evening shift.

Requirements

- Previous kitchen work experience is required.

- Ability to handle cooking, preparation, packing, stocking and cleaning independently after training.

- Valuable organization, food safety knowledge and attention to order accuracy.

- Reliability and availability for the stated shift and at least 4 shifts per week.
