Doodle Bugz Early Learning is growing! We are opening a second location and are looking for an experienced RECE Child Care Centre Supervisor to join our leadership team.

Our new centre will initially open with four classrooms, with an additional three classrooms planned as we grow. This is an opportunity to join us before opening, help build the team and centre culture, and grow your leadership role as the centre expands.

Who We’re Looking For

Above everything else, we are looking for an exceptional communicator and collaborative leader.

You must be comfortable communicating openly and consistently with the Owner, our existing Centre Supervisor, educators and families. We want someone who addresses concerns early, follows through, supports their team, holds people accountable and takes ownership of their centre.

Our two Supervisors lead their individual locations while working together as one Doodle Bugz leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operation of the centre
- Assist with pre-opening, licensing, classroom setup and staff recruitment
- Recruit, coach, mentor and support educators
- Develop staff schedules and maintain required ratios
- Conduct staff check-ins and manage performance concerns
- Maintain licensing documentation and CCLS requirements
- Manage Serious Occurrences and Ministry reporting
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the CCEYA, current amendments and Ministry licensing requirements
- Support implementation of How Does Learning Happen?
- Build strong relationships with children, families and staff




- Collaborate closely with the Owner and Supervisor of our existing centre

Required Qualifications

Applicants MUST have:

- Current RECE designation in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of direct Supervisor/child care management experience in a licensed child care centre
- Robust practical knowledge of the CCEYA, current amendments and licensing requirements
- Strong working knowledge of CCLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading staff and managing performance
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Vulnerable Sector Check

Experience opening, licensing or expanding a child care centre is a significant asset.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary: $75,000–$85,000/year, based on years of experience and qualifications. Compensation will be reviewed as the centre expands and the scope of the role increases.

Our Leadership Culture

Our Owner is actively involved in the behind-the-scenes operation of Doodle Bugz and in the child care sector. You will have support, resources and another experienced Supervisor to collaborate with—but you will also be trusted to confidently lead your centre.

We’re looking for someone who is present, approachable, communicative and accountable. Someone who notices when their team needs support, recognizes great work, addresses difficult issues when necessary, brings forward ideas and follows through.
