Experienced Molderman / Moulder Operator

Hydromat 23C – Jointed Moulder

Swiftsure Milling & Mouldings Ltd. is looking for an experienced Molderman to join our production team.

The successful candidate must have hands-on experience setting up and operating a Weinig Hydromat 23C or similar high-speed jointed moulder. We are looking for someone who understands precision wood machining, jointing systems, tooling, and the importance of maintaining consistent quality in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, operate, and maintain a high-speed jointed moulder.
- Perform accurate machine setups, including cutterhead positioning, jointing, and tooling adjustments.
- Set up and adjust straight and profile jointing systems.
- Read and interpret moulding profiles, drawings, and specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, including chatter, tear-out, dimensional inconsistencies, and finish quality.
- Monitor production to ensure consistent dimensions and surface quality.
- Perform cutterhead changes, knife adjustments, and routine machine maintenance.
- Work with various hardwoods and softwoods, including cedar, hemlock, fir, oak, and other specialty materials.
- Maintain efficient production speeds while minimizing waste and downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Required Qualifications

- Previous experience operating a jointed moulder is mandatory.




- Strong understanding of high-speed moulding operations and jointing technology.
- Experience with Weinig Hydromat machines or comparable jointed moulders.
- Ability to independently perform complete machine setups and changeovers.
- Knowledge of cutterheads, tooling, feed systems, and jointing adjustments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Experience producing architectural mouldings, siding, decking, and custom wood profiles is an asset.
