Position Summary

At Central Builders, our Rentals desk is more than just a place to book equipment; it’s where contractors and DIY customers come for practical help, the right equipment, and a smooth experience from pickup to return. A great Rentals Associate helps people feel confident and looked after, whether they’re calling for availability, picking up a machine, or bringing one back after a job.

As a Rentals Associate, you’ll support both walk-in and phone customers with equipment selection, rental contracts, deposits, pickups, and returns. You’ll also help inspect, stage, clean, and prepare equipment so it is safe, presentable, and ready for the next customer. It’s a role built around accuracy, service, and safety.

We’re looking for someone dependable, hands-on, and customer-focused; someone who can communicate clearly, stay organized, and take pride in keeping the rentals area running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Greet customers in person and over the phone, and help match them with the right rental equipment for their project

· Prepare rental agreements, contracts, payments, and deposits accurately using our point-of-sale and rental systems

· Explain rental terms, basic operation, and safe handling expectations so customers leave informed and confident

· Coordinate equipment pickups and returns, checking condition, cleanliness, fuel levels, and any damage or shortages

· Stage, retrieve, load, and unload equipment on the property, and assist customers with safe loading and unloading

· Inspect, clean, fuel, and perform light servicing on equipment so it is ready for the next rental





· Order and receive rental-related inventory or supplies, and keep documentation organized and up to date

· Maintain a clean, safe, customer-ready rentals area, and support other duties as needed

What You Bring to the Table

· Customer service experience in retail, construction, or a front-counter environment is helpful, but not required

· Comfort with computers, point-of-sale systems, and learning rental software and processes

· Solid attention to detail; accuracy matters when processing contracts, payments, and documenting equipment condition

· Ability to stay calm, professional, and solution-focused during busy periods or customer issues

· A collaborative, team-first mindset, while still being able to work independently and take ownership of tasks

· Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing steel-toed footwear

· Basic equipment or construction knowledge is an asset, but not required

· A valid BC driver’s licence is an asset for deliveries, equipment transfers, or support tasks

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
