About the Prospect

Our client, an established, growing distributor with multiple branches, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team. You will turn financial and operational results into clear, decision-ready insight for management, building the reports, models and dashboards that show how the business is performing. The role combines analysis and reporting with hands-on involvement in the month-end close.

What You'll Do

- Analyze monthly results against budget, prior year, forecast and historical trends, investigate unusual results and explain significant variances
- Prepare management reporting packages, financial and operational metrics and performance dashboards
- Build and maintain financial models, Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools
- Support annual budgets, forecasts, scenario analysis and long-term financial planning
- Complete ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support management decisions
- Participate in the month-end close, including financial statements, selected journal entries,



account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Support year-end audit preparation and auditor requests
- Take on related projects as needed

What You Bring

- CPA designation, or near completion of it preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis; distribution industry experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and ASPE
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and repeatable reporting tools (experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI or Tableau)
- Proven ability to investigate variances, find the underlying causes and recommend solutions
- Strong initiative, organization and time management, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
