Role Summary

The Business Development Manager is a key leadership position responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing business and economic development opportunities that support the long-term growth and prosperity of Serpent River First Nation and SRFN LP. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying recent business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, securing funding, and coordinating initiatives from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

● Identify and evaluate new business and economic development opportunities.

● Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential investors, businesses, and government agencies.

● Initiate, coordinate, and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.

● Research funding opportunities and coordinate applications and proposals.

● Facilitate community consultations and stakeholder engagement sessions.

Qualifications

● Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, or a related field.

● 3-5 years of experience in business development or project management.

- 2 years of experience working in a First Nation





● Knowledge of First Nation governance and community-led economic development.

● Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

● Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle

- Knowledge of Ojibway culture
- Knowledge of the 7 grandfather teachings

Salary

● To be negotiated based on qualifications and experience
