Arc/Stick Welders (Shop & Field)

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Arc/Stick Welders on behalf of a leading Canadian company specializing in waste and recycling equipment.

This is a full-time, permanent position that offers opportunities to work both in the shop and in the field, depending on operational needs and experience. Whether you enjoy fabricating and repairing equipment in a shop environment or traveling to customer sites to perform repairs, this role offers a rewarding and diverse work experience.

Compensation & Schedule

- Pay: $25-$30/hour, based on experience
- Bonus: Incentive opportunity targeted at 5% of base salary
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Overtime and on-call work may be required
- Company vehicle provided for field assignments where applicable

Key Responsibilities

- Perform Arc/Stick welding repairs and fabrication on recycling containers, compactors, balers, grates, railings, and related equipment.
- Complete welding projects in both shop and field environments.
- Assess equipment damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Use welding equipment, cutting torches, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
- Take accurate measurements and communicate material and repair requirements.
- Install and repair shop-manufactured components at customer locations when required.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and work orders.
- Complete service documentation accurately and maintain professional communication with customers and team members.
- Travel independently to customer locations for field service work as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety regulations.

Qualifications

- Experience with Arc/Stick welding is required.
- Previous experience in a shop, field service, or industrial welding environment.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.




- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and work independently.
- Valid Ontario Full G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record (required for field service work).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call service when required.
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and in varying environmental conditions.
