Overview

Concord Security is seeking a Security Manager to direct on-site operations at a major, high-profile shopping centre in Burnaby. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will serve as the key operational leader on site, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for shoppers, retailers, and staff.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 per year

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success is measured by the safety of the site, the efficiency of your team, and the trust you build with property management. Key responsibilities include:

- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and coach supervisors and frontline security officers. Foster a supportive team culture centered on accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
- Daily Operations & Administration: Manage team schedules, address daily staffing requirements, ensure compliance with contractual SLAs, and oversee administrative reporting using Microsoft Office tools.
- Incident & Safety Management:



Oversee incident investigations, resolve tenant and customer concerns, and maintain strict compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) guidelines.
- Client Relations: Maintain regular daily communication with property management, perform routine site inspections, and proactively present operational updates and safety recommendations.
- Systems Monitoring: Oversee on-site video surveillance platforms (including Genetec and Avigilon) to support security operations and event reviews.

Must-Have Requirements

- At least 5 years of overall security experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Proven experience managing team schedules, staff performance, and operational workflows.
- Strong practical knowledge of security operations, incident investigation techniques, emergency response protocols, and OH&S; workplace standards.
- Proficiency with modern CCTV systems (specifically Genetec and/or Avigilon).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Transparent written and verbal communication skills with strong conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to work a regular day shift (07:00–15:00) with flexibility to respond to rare operational emergencies if needed.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Prior experience working within a shopping centre, retail, or commercial property environment.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
