Igloo Building Supplies is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Junior Purchasing Agent / Decor Purchaser to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys consistent, repetitive data entry, works collaboratively with a fast‑paced sales team, and is committed to building a long‑term, meaningful career with us. The Junior Purchasing Agent / Decor Purchaser will support our purchasing department by helping source materials, maintain accurate product data, monitor inventory, and ensure our builders receive the correct products on time. Training for this position is comprehensive and time‑intensive, so we are looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and stay with us for the long run.

Responsibilities

- Purchase products at the best price, quality, and delivery timeline for the local branch and other departments as needed.
- Ensure costing, product descriptions, and vendor information are accurate, complete, and consistently maintained.
- Support the sales team by procuring precise materials required for builder orders.
- ·Prepare product and vendor performance reports for management.
- Identify and evaluate alternate suppliers when needed.
- Communicate with vendors to stay informed about current market conditions and product trends.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain balanced stock and prevent shortages.
- Identify slow‑moving items and assist in strategies to clear inventory.
- Review and adjust min/max quantities on a routine basis.
- Attend product knowledge sessions and training as required.
- Review, document, and process claims.
- Coordinate shipments and deliveries to ensure timely arrival of goods.· Perform repetitive data entry tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors to support long‑term purchasing reliability and supply consistency.





Requirements

No experience required — full training will be provided.
However, experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or supply-chain environment is considered an asset.

Additional preferred qualifications:

- Knowledge of finishing, flooring, lighting, or siding materials is an asset.
- Strong computer skills and comfort working with multiple systems.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to represent the company professionally at all times.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and skilled in fast‑paced or high‑pressure situations.
- Analytical mindset with strong planning and execution abilities.

- Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
