Senior QA Software Tester

$99,000 to $140,000 CAD + 5% bonus

Morson Canada is hiring a Senior QA Software Tester for a leading naval defence technology company in Dartmouth. Their systems, including sonar, radar, and underwater technology, are used by allied navies around the world.

This is a hands-on role for a tester who enjoys both sides of the job: running manual test cases and helping bring automation into the mix. You’ll help modernize the test strategy across Linux-based virtualized systems, physical test sets, and Docker deployments, working closely with developers and systems engineers.

What you’ll do

- Review functional and design specs and turn them into clear test cases and test artifacts
- Execute manual tests, analyze results, and collect test evidence
- Log, track, and triage defects with the development team
- Run regression testing as fixes come in
- Spot good candidates for automation and help write basic automation scripts
- Act as a test SME during documentation reviews

What you bring

- 6+ years in a complex engineering environment (aerospace, defence, simulation, or similar)
- Comfortable on the Linux command line
- Solid grounding in functional, regression,



and integration testing
- Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA
- Robust documentation habits and attention to detail
- A degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to have

- Python or Bash scripting
- Git, CI/CD pipelines, Nexus, VS Code
- IBM DOORS or other test management tools
- Automation tools like Robot Framework, Selenium, or Playwright

Eligibility
You must be eligible for Government of Canada Reliability Status and the Controlled Goods Program. NATO clearance is started after you’re hired.

- Salary: $99,000 to $140,000 CAD
- 5% annual bonus
