Hiring Industrial Butcher in Parkhill

Job Description: Industrial Butcher (Levels 1, 2 & 3)

Duties and Responsibilities

- Cut, trim, debone, skin, and portion beef, veal, lamb, and goat according to production requirements.
- Operate industrial meat-processing equipment, including band saws, grinders, slicers, and vacuum packaging machines.
- Inspect meat products for freshness, quality, and defects.
- Weigh, package, seal, and label products accurately.
- Follow food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain clean work areas and report equipment issues or hazards.
- Monitor production output and maintain accurate quality control and inventory records.
- Work with team members to meet production targets and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial butchery, meat cutting, or meat processing.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts, quality standards, and food safety procedures.
- Experience operating meat-processing equipment safely.
- Good attention to detail, manual dexterity,



and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Progression from Level 1 to Level 3 is based on skills, productivity, consistency, and overall performance.

Working Conditions

- Work in a refrigerated facility with exposure to raw meat, cold temperatures, noise, and cleaning chemicals.
- Frequent use of sharp tools and industrial machinery.
- Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must follow all hygiene, sanitation, and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry 25–50 kg, with assistance or mechanical aids where required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
- Positive hand-eye coordination and balance when working with sharp tools and on potentially slippery floors.
