Job Description:

Enjoy making a space feel clean, cared for and welcoming? The Langham Cultural Society is looking for a thorough, reliable cleaner to help care for Kaslo’s historic arts and cultural centre.

This ongoing, part-time position offers dependable income and the flexibility to fit work around your life.

Hours & Wage:

- $25 per hour starting wage, annual increases, plus 6% vacation pay and STAT holiday pay
- 8 hours per week, flexible schedule, set your own hours. 3 month initial probation period.

Responsibilities:

- Clean all public and staff spaces including washrooms, kitchenettes, galleries, theatre, hallways, stairs, Langham office, storage rooms and other shared spaces. Rented offices/studios are excluded.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors; dust and wipe surfaces; and clean fixtures and surfaces.
- Collect garbage and recycling and replenish washroom supplies.
- Complete scheduled detail cleaning, including trim, ledges and other areas requiring regular attention.
- Follow approved cleaning methods around artwork, museum displays and historic features.
- Monitor and order cleaning supplies.
- Report leaks, damage, safety concerns and other building issues promptly.




- Ensure the overall cleanliness and positive presentation of the building.

Qualifications:

You take pride in thorough cleaning, notice the details and follow through consistently. You are comfortable working independently, communicating about priorities and treating a historic building, artwork and displays with care.

Previous professional cleaning or housekeeping experience is an asset. We also welcome applicants who can demonstrate strong cleaning skills and a willingness to learn. The work involves stairs, bending, reaching and using cleaning equipment.
