About the job

Blue50 Nails & Spa is an established salon in Kentville, Nova Scotia, with a steady, loyal clientele. Head spa is a growing specialty at the salon, and we are adding an esthetician to our team — both newly licensed graduates and experienced estheticians are welcome.

What you'll do

- Head spa treatments
- Waxing services
- Lash and brow tinting
- Keep your treatment room and workstation clean and sanitized to Nova Scotia standards
- Manage your appointments in our online booking system
- Help at reception and with light tidying between clients

What you need

- This is a full-scope role: every Blue50 esthetician covers the esthetics menu — head spa, waxing and tinting. Please apply only if you are happy to provide the full range
- A valid Nova Scotia Full esthetics licence (Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia — CANS). A licence from another Canadian province that can be transferred is also accepted
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Canadian work experience is not required
- Previous head spa experience is welcome but not required — we provide training in our head spa approach, with coaching and guidance while you settle in

Pay and what you get

- Experienced estheticians earn up to $24 an hour + up to 10% commission + 100% of your tips. Your exact rate is set to match your skills, experience and performance, and is reviewed as you grow with us
- New licensed graduates start at $18 an hour + 5% commission + 100% of your tips — all in, roughly $26–$28 an hour on a typical book (approximate; it runs higher or lower depending on the season)
- All products and tools supplied — no chair rent
- On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced technicians — and if you need it, we will coach and guide you through our head spa approach as you settle in
- Flexible scheduling
