ASSISTANT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Apollo Moving is a busy, BBB Accredited and CAM Certified moving company based in Mississauga, completing 2,000+ moves a year across the GTA for homes and businesses.

We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager. The ideal candidate has at least two years of moving industry experience and previous management or customer service experience.

The position involves both office and on-the-road responsibilities. Full-time, salary $45,000-$54,000 per year.

DUTIES INCLUDE
- Create estimates and assist with on-site visits to clients' homes and businesses

- Build and manage the daily schedule for jobs, crews and trucks in SmartMoving

- Run the morning roll-out: crews checked in, trucks inspected and loaded, out on time

- Coordinate the logistics of every job and track trucks live in Motive

- Act as the link between office staff and crew members

- Monitor and enforce crew compliance with safety, uniform and floor-protection procedures

- Follow up on damage claims and keep truck maintenance on schedule

- Assist with crew training and performance reviews

- Supervise all crews on the road and be ready and willing to help on moves when needed





- Excellent in office problem solving and conflict resolution skills

- Work closely with the Owner, Sales Manager and Move Coordinators

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum two years of experience in the moving industry

- Previous management experience an asset

- Strong computer and phone skills, and able to learn SmartMoving and Motive quickly

- G licence with a clean abstract

- Experience driving 20', 26' and 28' straight trucks

- Experience driving across the GTA, including downtown Toronto

- Knowledge of CVOR requirements and policies

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON L4W 1J1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- Moving industry: 2 years (required)
- Driving straight/cube trucks (20-28 ft): 1 year (preferred)
- Management or supervisory: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- G driver's licence (Ontario) with clean abstract (required)
