A stainless kitchen counter. Custom shelving for a restaurant. An aluminum piece someone can’t buy off the shelf. An odd request that starts with, “Do you think you could build this?”

That’s the work we’re looking for you to take on.

Duct Duct Goose Sheet Metal is growing the custom fabrication side of our business. HVAC ductwork is a big part of what we do, and we’re looking for a skilled fabricator to help build our specialty metal work into something just as strong.

What you’ll build

The main focus will be stainless steel kitchen counters, shelves, and related custom pieces, along with projects in aluminum, hot rolled steel, and other sheet metals. The requests vary, so you should enjoy figuring out how to turn an idea into a finished product.

You’ll own the work from start to finish:

- Visit sites, take accurate measurements, and make templates where needed.
- Work from drawings, sketches, photos, and customer ideas.
- Plan layouts, material requirements, fabrication steps, and installation.
- Cut, form, fit, TIG and MIG weld, grind, and finish.
- Install your work and handle the final adjustments.
- Communicate realistic timelines and flag issues early.

The person we’re looking for

You take pride in a straight edge, a clean weld, a consistent finish, and a piece that fits properly when it reaches the site.

You’re comfortable working independently, but you also know when to ask a question before a small uncertainty becomes an expensive mistake. You check your measurements,



think through the installation, and keep track of what you’ve promised.

You should bring:

- Proven custom sheet metal or metal fabrication experience.
- Strong TIG and MIG welding skills, including TIG on thin stainless steel.
- Experience controlling distortion and producing clean, visible finishes.
- Confidence measuring on site and working around walls, corners, and surfaces that aren’t perfectly square.
- The ability to estimate your time and organize multiple projects.
- Experience using sheet metal fabrication equipment safely.
- A valid driver’s licence and the ability to attend installations.

Experience with commercial kitchen fabrication, stainless counters, sinks, backsplashes, and shelving would be a robust asset. A sheet metal trade qualification is valued; we also want to see the quality of work you can produce.
