The Opportunity

If you are an engineer who wants to evolve away from full days in front of a screen, we are hiring a Sales Engineer. This candidate will own the technical design and specification work our customers rely on. This is ideal for someone who wants to be in the room with those customers rather than reading about them in a CRM.

You will get out from behind the desk, learn an industrial business end to end, and earn on what you sell through a commission structure. You do not need a sales background. We provide sales training and you will ride along with our senior outside sales team while you build confidence. What you do need is the professional designation and the technical judgment that comes with it.

The position is split between customer facing and technical work: design specs, schematics, crossovers, and project support.

Technical Responsibilities

- Design and specify hydraulic power units and motion control systems, from concept through bill of materials.
- Read schematics and manufacturer specification sheets to identify crossovers and product substitutions.
- Review customer specifications and provide stamped engineering documentation where required.
- Work with fabrication and assembly to get units built, finished, and commissioned to spec.
- Act as the internal technical authority for the sales team on live projects and quotations.

Sales Responsibilities

- Develop and grow an assigned sales territory across British Columbia.
- Prospect and secure new business through customer visits, networking, referrals, and industry events.




- Build relationships with engineers, maintenance teams, operations leaders, and purchasing professionals.
- Identify customer challenges and recommend hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and electro-hydraulic solutions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical recommendations.
- Manage an active sales pipeline and achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Maintain CRM records, forecasts, and account plans.

Requirements

- P.Eng. designation in Canada, registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC or eligible to register in BC. This is a firm requirement for the role.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Genuine interest in fluid power and motion control. Direct fluid power experience is an asset, not a requirement. We will train the right engineer.
- Solid written and verbal communication in English, and comfort dealing with people face to face.
- Valid BC driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the province.

Considered an Asset

- Experience in technical sales, application engineering, or another customer-facing technical role.
- Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, instrumentation, or related industrial technologies.
- Three or more years of post-graduation experience.

Training and Support

- Sales training and joint customer calls with our senior outside sales team.
- Fluid power and motion control fundamentals training from a senior engineer.
- Extensive supplier and product training across our portfolio.

Pay: $80,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
